Brian Pomrenke was awarded the role of Fire Chief in July, 2016. Despite his numerous certificates, skills and talents, Chief Pomrenke preaches one thing above all else -- family. This premise is felt throughout the walls of Chestermere Fire Services (CFS) and the devoted 22-person roster, who can all agree with pride that CFS is truly a second family. We win together, we lose together, but we do it all together.
Formerly a Captain with Chestermere Fire Services, Chief Pomrenke has always had an affinity for the craft of firefighting and the leadership required to facilitate successful emergency operations.
“I could not be more more proud and humbled to serve as Fire Chief for the City of Chestermere. As a resident and having been involved in fire department operations for many years, ensuring that the department is a success and provides world-class service to this community is an incredibly intimate goal of mine”.
Beyond anything else, Chief Pomrenke is committed to people. He is a firm believer that an attitude of humble, servant leadership will foster an environment that empowers staff to bring their best to work each day, which in turn provides remarkable service for the community. He believes that the fire department is an integral pillar of any municipality and holds community involvement as a value. As a result, fire crews are continually plugged into community events, door-to-door fire prevention efforts, and serving citizens through premium emergency response services.
Chief Pomrenke has many goals for Chestermere Fire Services for the upcoming years and is excited to evolve the department through its next chapter. He encourages everyone to reach out, ask questions, and pop by the fire hall for a tour to learn more about the service that works tirelessly to protect and serve.
