With great disappointment, the City has announced that the 2017 Chestermere Arts Days event has been cancelled.
“Earlier this year, we received word that we did not receive the provincial grant that has usually covered the costs of this event,” said Nancie Huneault, the City’s Events Coordinator. “We were hoping that other funding would come through but unfortunately we have not been able to secure what we needed to make it happen this year.”
Arts Days in Chestermere began in 2011 and over the years has featured a variety of events including an art show, art walk, workshops, visual displays, music, poetry, dance and other activities.
The event was supported by the Arts Days Committee which included representatives from Community Services, the Chestermere Agricultural Society, the Chestermere Public Library, local resident artists, and the City of Chestermere.
“We will certainly revisit this event next year and we hope we can find the necessary funding to bring this event back to our community” said Huneault.
