City to sell three more acres in Webster Industrial Park

Chestermere, AB – On September 18, Chestermere’s City Council accepted a Letter of Intent for a company to purchase three (3) acres in the City’s new development: Webster Industrial Park.

“While the details of the transaction are currently confidential, we can confirm that the intended purchaser is a small to medium sized business that will bring new jobs and an increase to the City’s non-residential tax base,” said Jean-Marc Lacasse, the City’s Economic Development Manager.

Earlier this month, City Council approved an outline plan for the park, began detailed engineering for the lands and hired Colliers International as a broker to help facilitate the remainder of the land sales.

The City is currently seeking to sell 1-5 acre fully serviced lots and the letter approved by Council is the second confirmed purchase in the development. Preliminary discussions for more than 61 of the total 68.1 commercially-developable acres are currently in progress.

Lacasse explains that the location of the development would be ideal for companies specializing in professional and technical services, distribution and logistics, research and development and manufacturing.

The City purchased 101 acres of land in the southeast corner of Chestermere in 2015 to bring additional non-residential development to the community. It is anticipated that at full build out, the park will provide between 500 and 1,500 local jobs and generate $1 Million in taxes for the City each year. Tax revenues are not being used as a source of funding for this project.

Interested clients looking for land are encouraged to contact Brad Pilling with Colliers International at 403-571-8767.
