At the Regular Meeting of Council on March 5, Council...

  • Heard a presentation regarding the Chestermere Volunteer Job Fair that will bring together not for profit and charitable organizations in Chestermere.
  • Heard an update from the Interim CAO regarding Chestermere’s snow maintenance procedures following the recent snow fall.
  • Adopted the consent agenda.
  • Heard a presentation regarding Chestermere’s Municipal Enforcement Year-End 2017 report. Also heard from the RCMP regarding the Traffic Safety Plan 2018-2020. This report is available in the agenda.
  • Heard a presentation regarding the 2018-2019 Annual Performance Plan priorities for policing in Chestermere. Council will review the priorities and submit any changes if necessary.
  • Heard a presentation for information only regarding the Municipal Government Act amendments implementation schedule. A semi-annual report with updates will be presented to Council.
  • Accepted Administration’s recommendation to approve the resignation of two members from the Chestermere Library Board and appoint two new members.  
  • Accepted the Compensation Disclosure Policy #838 which will be posted to the website after review of the 2018 Budget is complete. This Policy outlines the positions, salary ranges and benefits available to Municipal employees. The Policy is available to view in the agenda.
  • Accepted First Reading of Bylaw #006-18, Chestermere Utilities Inc. Promissory Note regarding the request for extension of the loan repayment with 2.44% interest. This Bylaw will be advertised in the local newspaper.
  • Made a resolution under New Business to move the Public Hearing for Bylaw #002-17, being the Dawson’s Landing Outline Plan to April 3, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Heard from 1 resident during the second Question Period.
