The Engineering Department of the Town of Chestermere is responsible for review and approval of all engineering drawings for new subdivision, capital projects and other infrastructures including but not limited to roads, surface drains, sidewalks, curbs & gutters, asphalt, stormwater and shallow utilities (electric, gas, cable and telephone). EPCOR water services, on behalf of the Town, is responsible for water and sanitary infrastructure operations, maintenance, capital work design/construction, and reviews/approvals/inspections of water and sanitary sewers of new subdivision. While EPCOR is responsible for all engineering reviews and approvals of the water and sanitary infrastructures based on the set engineering standards and specifications, the Engineering Department is responsible for Municipal approvals of the water and sanitary infrastructures.

Subdivisions are reviewed for conformance to the City of Calgary’s standards and guidelines; however, the department is in the process of setting the Town of Chestermere’s specific engineering standards.

• Flushing, Testing and Disinfection Manual for new Water and Sanitary Sewer mains
• Wastewater Lift Station Design Guidelines
