- This privately-owned commuter bus has been operation in Chestermere for almost two years. They have a route that runs around the town picking up people to take them to the East side of the lake (at the ESSO gas station) to transfer them to the main commuter bus, twice each morning to go to the downtown core, and then returning twice in the late afternoon. - This bus arrives in Chestermere around 6:40-6:45 a.m. at the Recreation Centre and has approximately eight drop-off locations in downtown Calgary and then returning in the late afternoon. For detailed information about schedules and cost, call First Canada at 403-531-3940.
Highways
Chestermere is served by Highway 1A which is also referred to in Calgary as 17 Avenue S.E. The Trans Canada Highway is adjacent to the Town of Chestermere. It takes approximately 20 minutes to commute from Chestermere to Calgary’s downtown core.

Lake Weeds
The lake weeds are harvested during the months of July and August. The town would like to thank the lakefront owners who take the time and immense effort to collect weeds along their lakeshore frontage.
