Parks and Recreation

The Town of Chestermere offers all residents and visitors access to it’s day-use parks to enjoy both summer and winter activities. Chestermere’s primary attraction is the 750 acre lake and 18 hole golf course. Chestermere provides day use parks for the launching of boats and parks that can be enjoyed by families. Chestermere’s Regional Recreation Centre also offers many recreation programs for residents.

Please be aware that parks and green spaces are NOT off-leash areas for your pets. Please be considerate and remember that you MUST pick up after your pets.

Motorized vehicles and equipment are NOT allowed in the green spaces and parks in the Town of Chestermere.

Chestermere Regional Recreation Centre

Chestermere Regional Recreation Centre (CRCA) Vision:

“The Chestermere Regional Recreation Association provides a viable, safe and well maintained leisure and recreational venue for the year round needs of our growing community.

The Chestermere Regional Community Center is located on 22 acres of land. Facilities include:

  • Twin Arenas with year round ice
  • Curling Arena
  • Gym
  • Meeting rooms
  • Banquet facilities accommodating up to 700
  • 3 Ball diamonds
  • 3 Soccer fields and several temporary soccer fields
  • Riding corral
  • Playground
  • Barbeque Area

The community center operates a number of programs including indoor and outdoor soccer, before and after school care, classes in everything from yoga to badminton and belly dancing, summer day camps, drop in volleyball and a softball league.

The community center is home to a host of organizations including the Chestermere Skating Club, Chestermere Minor Hockey, Lakeside Quilters, Chestermere Community Playschool, Chestermere Cadets, Beavers, Cubs and Sparks, Focus Tae Kwon Do, Chestermere Karate Club.

Bike Path

Chestermere is connected to the Calgary bike pathway system by a path that can be accessed at the south end of West Chestermere Drive.

Boat Launch

A Boat Launch is available to the general public for the launching of power boats at John Peake Memorial Park.

North side of the 1A highway on the west side of Chestermere Lake is a lakefront park which includes a public power boat launch, picnic and leisure areas.

Anniversary Park

South side of the 1A highway on the west side of Chestermere Lake is a lakefront park and provides a skate boarding park as well as picnic and leisure areas.

Founders Point

North side of the 1A highway on the east side of Chestermere Lake is a lakefront park with picnic and leisure areas.

Sunset Beach

This lakeside park is located on East Chestermere Drive and is a popular park with sailboarders. Named as a vantage point from which to enjoy beautiful sunsets you can enjoy a picnic in this park or beach volleyball.
