West Chestermere Drive Upgrade Project
The Town of Chestermere is getting close to the construction portion of this project.
A Pre-Construction Open House will be held on May 16, 2012 from 6:00-9:00pm to discuss:
- detailed project design
- timing of construction
- traffic impacts
- questions and comments
- landscaping options for the Town land in front of your property
Location: Chestermere Town Hall, 105 Marina Road
The purpose of the project is to address current drainage (flooding) issues along West Chestermere Drive and at the same time upgrade old and failing parts of the road. The project will address drainage within the entire road area including Town property that runs alongside the existing roadway. Please attend to learn how the construction will affect your property and street this summer.

Altalink Land Use Survey
Town staff invite you to complete the Altalink Land Use Survey. The survey is about the land directly underneath the Altalink and how it could be potentially used for recreational uses in the future (i.e. pathways, dog parks etc).
It is a short survey and should only take 5 minutes of your time. Please fill out the survey by June 10, 2012. (Hard copies of the survey are available at the planning front desk in Town Hall.)
Anyone is welcome to participate. The results of the survey will be included in a report to Town Council that will help them make decisions on future projects.

Information about the Altalink Study
Street Sweeping
Town Road Crews are currently working on street sweeping in Chestermere. If you see signs posted in your area for upcoming street sweeping, please move your vehicles off the street so the sweepers can get all the dirt at the edges of the roads.
Current areas for major sweeping are: – East Chestermere Drive – East Lakeview
Municipal Census: May 12– June 10
The Town is conducting the annual census from May 12– June 10.
A census is a door-to door count of the number of people living in the community. Town Council would appreciate your cooperation in answering the required questions when the census taker comes to your door. The census taker will be wearing an ID card.
In Chestermere, census data is gathered to determine the population, assist in planning the future of our community and to calculate grants.

Helicopter Powerline Inspections – June 18-22
Alpine Helicopters has gained permission from the Town to perform a low level visual inspection of the Altalink power lines. The helicopter(s) will be flying below 100 feet and will be doing inspections between 8:00am and 5:00pm. If you have any questions, please contact the Town at 403-207-7050.
