Creating resilient neighbourhoods where residents are connected, active, inclusive and involved in caring for each other.
What is it?
Chestermere believes that knowing who your neighbours are enhances the lives of those who live here. Because of that, we are embarking on a pilot project with four neighbourhoods in Chestermere in order to bring neighbours together with the purpose of:
Learning about the skills/needs your neighbours have to share
Becoming a more involved active and caring community
Other cities and towns across Alberta are involved in neighbourhood initiatives.
They report positive results such as reduced crime, enhancing the neighbourhood with projects planned by the residents of the neighbourhood, building the capacity of neighbourhoods to engage and collaborate.
We are looking for residents who would like to help organize an event or take on a neighbourhood leadership role.
If you would like further information on this project contact the Community Support Services Manager at (403) 207-7050.
