In response to Chestermere’s Seniors’ Housing Needs Assessment, which was conducted in 2018, a new land use designation has been proposed by Terradigm Development Consultants to allow for a range of housing types that would be restricted to those who have reached the age of 55 – The Retirement Living Campus District (RLC). In order to accommodate this use, four current City plans pertaining to the Special Recreation District (SPR) site in Kinniburgh will be required to be amended to accommodate a Retirement Living Campus.
