Snow Clearing Update: January 8
Today, crews will be completing the remaining snow removal in the Cove and the West Chestermere Drive Area. Residents are asked to please move vehicles off the street if possible and give crews room to work.
- Crews are continuing work on opening obstructions to fire hydrants, catch basins and responding to other non-snow service requests.
- Residents are asked to assist if they are able by keeping fire hydrant access and sidewalks free of snow.

Snow Clearing Update: January 6
Warmer weather is expected over the next few days. Chestermere may see a small amount of snow this evening and/or tomorrow morning but heavier snow is expected to stay west of Calgary.
Here is the current plan for today’s snow clearing:
- Crews are completing plowing and widening in remaining areas of Kinniburgh.
- Remaining snow plowing and widening in the Cove should be completed by tomorrow morning (January 7, 2021).
- Crews are continuing work on opening obstructions to crosswalks, fire hydrants, catch basins and responding to other service requests.
- Residents are asked to assist if they are able by keeping fire hydrant access and sidewalks free of snow.

Snow Clearing Update: January 5, 2021
Teams are still in the process of making the residential areas more accessible and improving the safety of main roads by widening some of the higher priority routes. Crews have now completed snow removal and hauling along Marina Drive from the Lakepoint Drive intersection south to the Alta Link crossing area and have also completed the clearing and widening in the Kinniburgh area.
Here is the current plan for today’s snow clearing:
- Continue to remove snow along higher priority routes such as the Windermere, Invermere and Springmere areas. Once those are completed, crews will move over to the Kinniburgh Boulevard area on Wednesday.
- Clean up outer rural areas where needed.
- Clear obstructions to crosswalks, fire hydrants, and catch basins and respond to additional service requests. (Community members are also encouraged to shovel out any fire hydrants on their property if they can).
Crews have responded to more than 200 service inquiries between Dec 22, 2020 – Jan 5, 2021.

Snow Clearing Update: December 30
Teams are now working on trying to make residential streets more accessible. This means that heavy equipment will be coming into residential areas. Please park vehicles off the street where possible.
Here is the current plan for today’s snow clearing:
- Work in Springmere and Oakmere area and should be completed this morning
- Work along West Chestermere Drive (including the cul de sacs in McIvor, Beaches, Chesterview Estates, and Lakeview Area) is scheduled this morning
- When above areas are completed, crews will move to Kinniburgh area and Rainbow Falls Green/Glen/Heath/Terrace and area.
- Crews are not able to do West Creek and Rainbow Falls today (which includes Seagreen and Topaz area) as bins are out for curbside pick up.
Once all driving lanes in the City have been cleared, snow removal will begin next week.
