2021 is off to a great start for the City’s Gifts of Kindness Fund as EPCOR has announced a donation of $5000 towards the local charity.
“We are so grateful to EPCOR’s Heart + Soul Fund for this generous display of support as we head into the uncertainty of the coming year,” says Nicole Madamesila, Community Wellness Facilitator and Gifts of Kindness Spokesperson. “With these funds, we will be able to support the most vulnerable members of our community, no matter what 2021 has in store.”
EPCOR, the City’s water and wastewater contractor, made the donation at the end of 2020 from their Heart + Soul Fund which ‘supports organizations that bring joy to the communities in which they work, and is available to provide a lifeline to those hardest hit by COVID-19’.
“COVID-19 has been a challenging time for our community, especially during the holiday season,” said Christian Madsen, EPCOR Director, Regional Operations. “EPCOR is pleased to support the Gifts of Kindness Fund so it can continue providing a helping hand to those in our community who need it most.”
The Gifts of Kindness Fund provides short term financial support to help meet the basic needs of Chestermere and South East Rocky View residents. In addition to helping people get back on their feet, this support helps prevent long term social challenges in our community such as homelessness and malnutrition.
