The City of Chestermere will light the lake at the annual Winter Lights Festival on Saturday, November 26th, from 4 to 8 pm. A beloved tradition in the community since its inaugural event in 2017, this family-friendly evening celebrates the start of the winter holiday season.
John Peake Park will be illuminated by the glow of the beautiful and ever-expanding winter lights display. Festival goers can cozy up around the fire pits, enjoy some tasty food truck fare, ride the little train, relax on a horse-drawn wagon ride, and be dazzled by some vibrant entertainment before watching an array of fireworks light up the night sky over Chestermere Lake.
The Holiday & Festive Markets are new this year, hosted in the City Hall lobby and Chestermere Public Library. Vendors will be set up for those wanting to take in a little holiday shopping.
Community Support Services will collect donations for the City’s Gifts of Kindness charitable fund during the event. Donations provide short-term financial support to help meet the basic needs of Chestermere and South East Rocky View residents.
As details are finalized, more information and the schedule of events will be added to chestermere.ca/winterlights.
