Notice of Public Hearing - Bylaw 008-23 & Bylaw 009-23
Proposed Amendment to the Municipal Development Plan and Land Use Bylaw
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 692 of the Municipal Government Act, Chapter M-26 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta, 2000, and amendments thereto, the Council of the City of Chestermere is considering Bylaw 008-23 and Bylaw 009-23. A public hearing will be held on TUESDAY, June 13, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. during the regular meeting of Council for the below-proposed bylaws.
The Public Hearings is scheduled during special meeting of Council, visit chestermere.ca/agendas where links to watch the live stream will be posted on the day of the meeting.
Members of the public who wish to provide verbal representation through live teleconferencing during the Public Hearing or written feedback must fill out the form at chestermere.ca/feedback. Written submissions may also be submitted by emailing publichearing@chestermere.ca with your name, address, phone number, which bylaw you are speaking to and whether you are in favour or opposed. Requests for verbal representation must be made by Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. The City will accept written submissions until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023.
Locational Context:

Bylaw 008-23 proposes an amendment to the Municipal Development Plan (Bylaw 015-15) to amend section 3.4.3 Re-Investment in Existing Communities. In the absence of an Area Structure Plan, the proposed policies and regulations will accommodate infill residential development in the East Acreages, North Acreages, and Paradise Meadows areas as identified on Figure 4: Chestermere Planning Areas in the Municipal Development Plan. Bylaw 009-23 proposes amending the Land Use Bylaw 022-10 to add the Transitional Rural Residential (TRR) District as an opportunity for East Acreages, North Acreages, and Paradise Meadows landowners to subdivide and densify residential development in a phased and transitional manner.
