2018 Tax Notices have now been mailed to all property owners in the City of Chestermere.
If you pay once per year, the deadline to pay without penalty is July 31, 2018. If you are on the Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP), your payment amount will be automatically adjusted on July 15.
Three things to know this year are:
- Tax Rate Changes: The final 2018 municipal tax requirement increase is 0.9%. (It was originally approved at 2% and an additional 4% in strategic items was proposed. Council reduced it down to the final 0.9% increase). The 2018 Provincial Education Tax requirement increase is 2.3%. The WID Service fee has not changed.
- Council Snapshot: This year, the 2018 Tax Notice also includes a brand new document: the 2018 City Council Snapshot that highlights what Council has been working on. You can also read the digital version (with links to more information).
- TIPP Changes: If you are not currently on the TIPP program, you can sign up anytime. New this year, new applicants don’t have to pay a lump sum to catch up on the first six months of payment. Instead, the full amount will be split over the remaining months of the year. In January, these new subscribers would be adjusted to pay the full amount over 12 months.
