Update to PLC clients regarding the recent provincial funding changes

Dear parents, caregivers and clients of the Kidz 1st Network Parent Link Centre,

We know you may have heard some news about recent changes with our funding through the Government of Alberta and we wanted to take this opportunity to clarify what these changes mean for you, your children and our programs and services.

We have received notification from the province that the three grants that fund our programs and services will end on March 31, 2020, and will not be renewed.

However, we will have the opportunity to re-apply for funding through the Government of Alberta’s new Family & Community Resiliency Division which aims to offer a consistent province-wide approach to prevention and early intervention through the new Well-Being & Resiliency Framework.

Over the next few weeks, and leading up to the application deadline in January, we will be focused on strategic planning to ensure our application (and the programs and services we offer) properly aligns under the new framework.

Until then, it will be business as usual as our current programs and services are still funded and scheduled to continue until March.

If you have any questions or concerns, you are welcome to speak with us in person or by calling (403) 207-7050 or by emailing us at
