How is the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the street sweeping program?

Factors such as the weather already affect the street sweeping program.

COVID-19 is an additional factor for all of our daily lives, including at Community Operations and the Roads team. Read a letter from the Roads team here.

Staff are taking extra precautions such as:

  • working in smaller sub-teams and staggering shift start/end times to minimize contact.
  • sanitizing all equipment touch points before and after every use.
  • wearing masks when physical distancing is not possible.
  • cross training operators from different departments to operate essential equipment.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we adjust to new requirements during this time.
